Aerial Dance Student Showcase Info

Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for this year’s showcase!

Who:

Aerial Dance Panama City – Student Showcase

Where:

Kaleidoscope Theatre
207 E 24th St, Lynn Haven, FL 32444

Routine Selection

Aerialists may sign up for the routines of their choice. Please keep the following in mind:

  • You are responsible for attending all designated practices for your chosen routine(s).

  • Be aware of which instructor is leading the routine before signing up.

  • Please speak with your instructor about their attendance policies.

  • $50 Registration Fee is required and must be paid to secure your spot. This helps cover the venue.

  • We are seeking sponsors to help with production costs (lighting, sound, photography, programs, etc.). The more support we have, the better the experience for everyone!

Costumes

  • Final costume decisions are made by your instructor. Please do not purchase anything without their approval.

  • Costume costs typically range from $25–$95 each.

  • Costumes must be age-appropriate.

  • Tights are required unless you're wearing a pants-based costume. (Be cautious—some tights can cause dangerous friction burns when paired with silks.)

  • Supportive undergarments (e.g., proper bras) are required for all routines.

  • Payment must be made in full before costumes will be ordered. Returned/exchanged costumes will cost a fee, so make sure to order the correct size

  • All aerialists will receive a costume order form. We order from Weissman Dance. If you have size concerns, visit their website and contact Brittany with any changes immediately.

Dress Code Reminders

  • Even if you already have tights, you should purchase a fresh pair—just in case of rips, wear, or misplacement.

  • No visible panty lines! The tights we purchase come with built-in liners, so no underwear is required. If you choose to wear a thong, ensure it is nude/neutral and not visible under your costume.

  • Do not ask Brittany or unrelated instructors about your costume. Only your routine instructor will have accurate answers. Each teacher has free will to create their own numbers.

Practices

  • You are expected to attend all practices for the routines you sign up for.

  • Mandatory Rehearsal will be held (before showcase day), including group photography.

  • Learn your music cues, entrance/exit timing, and who goes before and after you in the lineup.

  • Failure to attend practices may result in removal from the routine.

Day of Showcase

  • Showcase day is tightly scheduled—please be on time.

  • Hair and makeup may be done in the green room.

Green Room Guidelines

  • The green room is your home base during the showcase—use it to change, prep, rest, and store your belongings.

  • No parents are allowed in the green room for privacy and safety.

  • No men (fathers, brothers, uncles, etc.) are permitted due to performers of all ages changing.

  • If you’re in the first and last routine, be sure to return to the green room quickly after each.

Showtime Expectations

  • Your instructor will line up your group when it's time to perform.

  • Stay quiet in the green room and at the entrance to avoid disturbing the audience.

  • Know your position in the lineup.

  • After performing, exit quietly and return to the green room.

  • For the finale, all performers will line up and enter the stage together for the bow—this will be rehearsed that morning.

After the Show

  • Clean up your space in the green room.

  • Visit with friends and family after you’ve gathered all your belongings.

Extra Tips

  • On showcase day, stick to light, gentle foods like oatmeal or applesauce.

  • Avoid brightly colored drinks (e.g., blue/red Gatorade) that could stain costumes.

  • If you’re prone to motion sickness or nerves, plan ahead.

  • If you take a long time to get ready, arrive with hair curlers in or makeup started—just don’t arrive in costume.

For questions regarding specific routines, practices, or costumes, always contact your assigned instructor directly.

Let’s make this showcase amazing together! 🌟

Important Seating Notice

Please be aware that Kaleidoscope Theatre has a strict 200-person capacity, as required by the local fire code.

  • Only guests with a valid ticket will be allowed to enter.

  • Absolutely no exceptions will be made once capacity is reached.

  • This includes performers, staff, and audience members—anyone inside the theatre counts toward the 200-person limit.

We highly recommend purchasing tickets early to secure your spot. Once we hit capacity, no additional tickets can or will be released. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep the event safe and compliant.
