On October 10th 2018 our community was broken. A storm more powerful than any of us could imagine hit us with unrelenting fury. We were unprepared, shocked, and shaken. Wives said goodbye to their husbands hoping to see them again after evacuation, Mothers held their children as their roofs caved in, And Fathers wondered if they had condemned their families to death given their decision to stay. However, when the skies cleared, everyone went to work: First responders went above and beyond the call of duty, Neighbor was helping neighbor, and stranger was helping stranger. We suffered. We struggled. We grieved. But we had each other. We worked together, and we cleared the way for hope. APDC proudly presents the production of Whirlwind. An aerial interpretation of a community hit by a devastating disaster, but also a community able to respond and rebuild. A community that will always remember not to forget.
